World-Class electronic music acts,

Damian Lazarus, Blond.ish, and Kate Simko and the London Electronic Orchestra converged in Houston Texas for a themed Cirque Noir party in collaboration Live Nation, which was consulted and executed by Limitless.

A boutique set design yielded an immersive, high-brow destination for party-goers, creators, and electronic music aficionados alike.

Limitless has become Cirque Noir’s preferred production house from Houston to Los Angeles, combining art forms and proficiencies to connect dots in an all-encompassing nightlife environment.

The event posed some fun challenges for us, and elements such as -

  • Design and install an asymmetrical Circus Roof to be flown in under 3-hours on the day of the event.

  • 3D Projection Mapped Orbs over the stage.

  • Two Large, Video Mapped buddha art installations.

  • Rigging Aerialists high in the roof.

  • UV Reactive Set pieces such as hand painted artwork.

  • Computer Controlled LED follow-spots for the Aerialist performances and dancers.

  • Detailed decor package and Custom LED clouds

  • Audio Engineering and Live PA sound for Kate Simko and the London Electronic Orchestra.

  • Lighting and Laser ground package & modified venue rig.

Lighting up the Evening

Lighting is in our name. We live and breathe lighting,

While we are a creative event agency working with many different mediums - we know our backbone and presence.

For this show the lighting rig included:

  • (8) Chauvet Rogue R2 Beam’s

  • (20) Chauvet Rogue R2 Wash

  • (8) HES Solaspot Pro 1000’s

  • (6) Chauvet Strike 4’s

  • (2) Limitless RGB 3W Lasers

  • (10) Chauvet 6-in-1 Pars

  • (30) Chauvet COLORado Tours

Our first move was installing a ground package of beams and lasers for some hard-edge presence in the room that the venue was missing out on.

We decided to build decks in front of the stage for the DJ to keep the crowd more intimate -

Working off that idea, we thought it would be savvy to drop the venue’s roof package directly behind the DJ so we could have some epic back-lighting going on and fill in an otherwise very large stage for just a DJ.

Overall we were very happy with the results! The ground package was positioned perfectly beneath the disco ball to create some elegant effects, and using the warm blinders dropped low created a lovely retro feel.

Creating an Environment

From immersive lighting and time synced programming, to a massive 80’ wide circus roof, and integrated multi-output projection system, this production was a very fun project for us over here at Limitless.

When combined with the dancers, decor, music, Cirque Noir and outfits by Hype Entertainment the results were absolute eye candy and created an momentous Halloween .

All forms of madness, bizarre, habits, awkwardness in society are justified in the team who creates good art.

Attention to Detail

G. Marzeri consulted closely with Cirque Noir and Limitless Lights & Sound to assist in schematics, pre-renders, floor plans and roof plots. Elevations and isometric views were generated to locate all elements and details Cirque Noir was expected for this event. Elements such as framework/trusses, floor/ceiling ornaments, art and lighting placements, while also calculating fabric lengths to execute the infamous circus tent. Renderings and a video walthrough of the 3d space were also provide aid in understanding the space visually and conceptually.

The fabric rig was sent up 22’ on a 2-ton motor then fastened to a motorized roof truss grid in the venue, which was trimmed to close off the balcony for a more intimate event.
